Brewed in collaboration with The Referend Bier Blendery, exclusively for release at Witchstock 2019, Nice Nice Very Nice is unique beer, with a unique process to match. Instead of brewing a new beer altogether, as a group we tasted a variety of our beers aging in oak, and selected a harmonious blend. To the blend we added Vidal Blanc ice wine skins, with a plethora of new microflora, to kickstart a refermentation.

A fruited kettle Sour w/ Blueberries, Boysenberry, Blackberry! A touch of lactose to make this an approachable almost introductory sour ale. This baby has intense juicy flavors upfront, that are balanced with subtle floral notes. Tangy berry and citrus lemon tartness are rounded out through the use of Milk Sugar. Sooooooo good!!!

Unfiltered, unpasteurized. Texas malted barley from Blacklands Malt, flaked barley, mixed culture of brewers yeast and native yeast and bacteria.

Old Fashioned, no this is Quad Fashioned! This is our 3rd edition of the cocktail series of beers we have toyed around with here at Abnormal Beer Co., and it is meant to emulate one of the most classic libations. The whiskey character that the barrel lent to this Belgian Quad is intense and wonderful so we wanted to play off the fact that the beer drinks like some good sippin’ whiskey. We then let the luscious liquid from the barrels sit on some dried orange slices and Montmorency cherries until we had what we wanted. If you like whiskey like us but don’t want to drink it straight, you will probably order an old fashioned. This beer will get you there without any mixing involved. Pop the top, pour into your favorite glass, and enjoy!

El Monstruo del Norte is the third oak-aged collaboration between North Peak Brewing Company and Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales. They took North Peak’s Gnarl (Chestnut Amber Ale) and combined it with around 40% of La Roja (Sour Amber Ale) and then aged it for 4 months in oak before securing this beast in bottles.

This Wild Red Chestnut Ale is thinner in body and boasts a beautiful copper-hue. Filled with roasty sweetness, blending caramel notes with subtle chestnut flavors, and finishing with a moderate bright citrus-like acidity.

⁣*Collaboration w/ Freigeist*
Black Forest is an exciting collaboration with the perpetually-creative Sebastian Sauer of Stolberg, Germany’s celebrated Freigeist. When we proposed a sour ale based on the classic Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, Sebastian was excited to help design a dense, rich cake-like sour. Brewed with velvety dark malts, fermented with a mixed culture in our oak foeder, refermented on tart Montmorency cherries, and conditioned on rich cacao, this is an uncompromising and complex sipper. 

Golden rays of citrusy and floral-like aromas shine through April Showers with this Belgian-style Golden Ale. An ode to both Belgian tradition and The Bruery craft, this ale was fermented and conditioned in New American Oak puncheons and dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc. Complementary notes of spice and fruity esters round out this glowing Golden Ale.

Intensely tart, with hints of almond and tons of cherry characteristics, Cherryland is our homage to San Leandro. While there are no more cherry orchards in our home city, this American Sour Red is a pretty good reason to visit, or at least a decent excuse.
